Messages for Parents

Headlice:

Can we ask that you regularly check your children’s hair for headlice/nits please and we also ask that long hair is tied up whilst in school in an effort to eradicate this pest!! Thank you.

Mobile phone numbers:

Please ensure that you inform us when you change your mobile telephone number! It could be very important that we contact you regarding your child(ren).

Parentline:

Help and advice in all aspects of family life, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – 0808 800 2222

Family Information Service:

Childcare, support for families with disabilities, advice about tax credits, etc. Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm – 0800 195 1635

Swimming:

Swimming is on every Wednesday and from Tuesday 12th April 2016 is charged at £2.70 per week.  Please ensure your child has their swimming kits with them every Wednesday! Swimming goggles are available from the school for a small additional fee

Uniform:

Please ensure that all items of uniform are clearly named to avoid them ending up in the ‘lost property’. Thank you. All uniform items can be ordered online at www.stparent.co.uk. Once ordered the uniform will be delivered to school and distributed.

PE Kits:

Could children please have their PE kits in school everyday? As the weather is often very unpredictable children should have jogging bottoms and sweatshirts. Children do need to get changed for PE for health and safety. If they get wet, they cannot be sat in wet clothes for the rest of the day!

Jewellery:

Please note that jewellery should not be worn in school apart from stud earrings and these need to be taken out or covered during PE. This is a health and safety issue.

Free School Meals:

If you think your child(ren) might qualify for free school meals, please see Mrs Kawkins in the office or visit Lincolnshire County Council Free school meals entitlement website.

Diarrhoea and Sickness:

The recommended period to keep a child away from school, nursery or childminders is 48 hours from the last episode of vomiting or diarrhoea.

Recycing:

The school now has a full-time clothing collection point outside the front of the school. The metal clothing container can accept the following unwanted items:

All men’s, ladies and children’s clothing; paired shoes (tied together); handbags, bags, ties and belts; soft toys; blankets; underwear to include socks, tights, pants, bras, etc; household textiles such as towels, bed linen, curtains, etc.

Please do not put any of the following in:

Duvets both synthetic and feathered; carpets; rugs; soiled or wet clothing.

Thank you.
